Element Bali Ubud: Where To Stay In Ubud With Kids

When we planned our vacation in Bali, Indonesia, I was torn between staying in Nusa Dua and Ubud because it seemed like both areas offered a lot to explore, to see, and experience. The town of Ubud is known for its vibrant culture, lush landscapes, and serene ambiance, so of course, we were going to go there… but should we stay there?

In the end, we decided to split our time between the fabulous beachside Westin Resort Nusa Dua and Element Bali Ubud. Staying in both areas made for the perfect and family-friendly Bali itinerary that we were looking for.

If you’re looking for a great hotel in Ubud that has activities for kids, a spa for the mom, and a swimming pool for everyone, Element Bali Ubud is quite the Bali hotel. Combining wellness, comfort, and Balinese culture, we loved our stay.

What To Know

You can book a stay at Westin Resort Nusa Dua on Booking.com or on Agoda.com or directly on Marriott.com

Element Bali Ubud, with its eco-friendly hotel rooms and suites designed to enhance well-being, promote how easily sustainable tourism can be accomplished.

The resort’s commitment to the environment and well-being, from the saltwater pool to holistic treatments and healthy dining options, ensures that your stay is not only enjoyable but also aligns with eco-conscious values. I was really interested to see this promotion in action when we got there.

When you first step into the open-air lobby, you’re welcomed by some beautiful architectural accents made by bamboo. Take a seat while you wait and lean back to look up and enjoy the view.

The staff are very friendly and explain the numerous wellness options available on site when you check-in so be sure to listen carefully and figure out what’s what so you can take advantage of the classes, experiences, and more available.

Glass-floored Observatory

After you’ve gotten your key and checked out your room, go for a bit of exploring because there are some fun areas of the hotel to be found including a glass-floored observatory. Even if you’re staying on one of the first two floors, you’ll want to head up to take in the beautiful view.

It’s green. It’s lush. And it’s a great way to look out over Ubud.

Kid-friendly Activities

If you’ve brought the kids along but want to spend some time in the spa, sign the kids up for some of the classes available on site. There are Balinese dancing classes, coconut leaf handicraft-making, coloring, and kite-making classes available. The staff were amazing and even when not in the class, they were doting on our daughter and so helpful.

Our daughter did the kite-making and I watched from our balcony as the staff helped her try to get it to fly. She had a lot of fun. Just beware, once it was time to pack up, she desperately wanted to take said kite home with us, so leave some room for the creations.

Adult-friendly Activities

If you want to sign up for some classes of your own, there are also aquarobic classes and full moon yoga that really amplify that wellness stay. (I personally just enjoyed the spa.)

And, if you want to get around, you can use the bikes that are made available to everyone staying at the hotel. There are plenty of ways to be active here.

The Rooms

The hotel offers a variety of rooms, each boasting a view of the inviting pool or the lush hotel gardens. The rooms on the bottom floor open right up to the swimming pool on one side and they were dreamy as I walked by.

We stayed on an upper floor and our view out over the lush landscape was really just as dreamy if I’m honest. The rooms were spacious and had all of the comfortable amenities we could need. We don’t spend much time in our room when we travel, opting to be out and about as much as possible. The bed was perfectly comfortable and the shower warm and inviting… But the water down below was calling our name.

The Swimming Pool

There is both a gorgeous pool for the swimmers among us as well as a children’s pool if you’ve got little ones to watch over. it is a natural saline pool which is both better for guests and the environment in keeping with their eco-conscious values.

I will say the water was a bit chillier than the pools we’d just been swimming in at Westin Resort Nusa Dua, but the water was no less inviting.

The Food

The importance of beginning each adventure-filled day with a nutritious meal cannot be overstated, especially when traveling with children. The buffet breakfast at Element Bali Ubud is substantial and has something for everyone, even the pickiest of kids. We found plenty to fill us up and kept us going throughout the day.

The in-house restaurant, Andong Teras, serves farm-to-table dishes that not only tantalize the taste buds but are sourced from local Ubud markets, ensuring freshness and supporting the local community. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel most nights because it’s easier when you have a little person, but also because their menu had great options.

On top of the delicious meals, there are performances at dinner-time which make it especially fun to stay on-site for dinner. Can’t go wrong with a dinner and a show.

The Spa

If you have the time and are looking to pamper yourself a bit, be sure to reserve a time at the PancaMaya Wellness Spa which is right on-site and near the swimming pool area. There are spa treatments, massage treatments, and nutritionist programs.

I enjoyed a massage that ended with an open-air herbal bath and it was amazing. Woulda coulda shoulda done it every day. Again, the staff were so kind and friendly. When you look up things to do in Ubud, you’ll find a lot of lists that promote having a spa experience and was happy I could do it right at our hotel.

If you’re searching for where to stay in Bali with kids, I can’t overstate how great Element Bali Ubud was. The staff were so kind and friendly with our daughter and she had an amazing time, while we got to relax and enjoy our vacation in Bali, too.
